EM8000 Quality Tach Generator

Aircraft tach generators measure an airplane’s engine speed electrically. By using the rotation of a magnet to emit voltage, the frequency of the voltage is measured into revolutions per minute. This rpm is then reported to the tachometer for a visual readout to the pilot.
